CYIOS Corporation Announces a Partnership With an 8(a) Certified Government Contractor and Becomes a Certified Microsoft Small Business Specialist

CYIOS Corporation Announces a Partnership With an 8(a) Certified Government Contractor and Becomes a Certified Microsoft Small B

WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CYIOS Corporation (BULLETIN BOARD: CYIO) announced today that the company has reached an agreement to enter into a partnership with an 8(a) certified government contractor. This will allow CYIOS to become a subcontractor on 8(a) set-aside bids and therefore increase its revenues and profits.

CYIOS will subcontract under the 8(a) certified company and receive up to 40% of the work on any given 8(a) set-aside contract the team may win. For some opportunities, CYIOS will leverage its past performance, which enables the 8(a) certified company to compete on bids where it may lack experience. Timothy Carnahan, President and CEO stated, "We have been actively searching for an 8(a) certified partner that complements CYIOS' mission and vision. Now that we have found that partner, we can immediately begin bidding on 8(a) set- aside opportunities. Having an 8(a) certified partner helps any Government contractor increase their amount of business. Large Defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin and SAIC have benefited from strategic partnerships with 8(a) certified firms."

The company went on to explain that 8(a) certified program participants receive business development assistance from the SBA and other Government agencies. One key benefit is the opportunity to receive sole-source contracts not exceeding $3 million for services. Participants may also bid on set-aside contracts of any size in competition with other participants in the 8(a) program. Participants remain in the program for 9 years and CYIOS' partner has 7 1/2 years left on its 8(a) certification. Recent regulatory changes have made the program more beneficial by permitting participants to form teaming arrangements with other companies, and thus allowing government agencies to streamline the process by which 8(a) contracts are awarded.

The company has also announced that it recently received certification as a Microsoft Small Business Specialist. Not only does this help the company become more valuable as it reaffirms the company as an expert in its areas of specialty, but also it will help increase business, especially in the commercial sector as Microsoft offers very aggressive sales assistance programs to its small business specialist partners. More information on this new opportunity will be made available in the coming months.
